County School Plan For Leaders

School Registration Day-

Hit #1- Packs will set up a table at their school’s "Meet the Teacher" or "Registration" day. Pack volunteers will distribute fliers directing people to “pre-register” for School Night online at www.brevard.cfcbsa.org . The draw to bring people to the table will be the free Frisbee for everyone that inquires. Boys who pre-register online will get a free Scout Handbook.

Public Display-

Hit #2- Packs will be able to sign up to get a 4-foot by 8-foot sign to place prominently in their community. Packs will be required to have a signed permission form from businesses prior to putting the signs up. Sign-up forms and permission forms will be available at August Roundtable or by contacting the District Executive or click for an order form and a contract form.

Classroom Promotion-

Hit #3- T-shirts: Every Cub Scout in Brevard County will be able to order a free “Join Cub Scouting” t-shirt online to wear to school the week of School Night. T-shirts can be ordered at www.brevard.cfcbsa.org

Hit #4-  “Join Cub Scouting” business cards and stickers will be sent to every boy that orders a Cub Scout t-shirt. Cards will be given from boy to boy in school or to other friends the week of School Night.

Hit #5- Positive Picketing: The day of your School Night, your pack leaders should be at your school during student drop-off and student pick-up. During this time, leaders will wave signs, distribute information to those interested in joining Cub Scouts and inform parents that Scout sign-up night is that night.

Hit #6- School Night: Be sure to have all of your leaders and helpful parents at School Night. Be prepared to give new Scouting families a:

·        Pack Budget

·        Pack Calendar

·        List of Pack Leaders

·        A sense of fun and adventure.

 After School Night Retention-

Hit #7- Hold a “Parent Orientation” no later than week from your pack's School Night. At that meeting ensure:

·        All parents participate in Fast Start Training

·        All parents receive and understand the Pack Calendar

·        All parents receive and understand the Pack Budget

·        Everyone has a good time. (This is Scouting after all, make sure to have fun!)
